"I had the wonderful opportunity of doing a photography course with Rory Baker, and being a complete novice I was made to feel at ease and no question was to simple to ask Rory during the course. His lessons were fun and informative. This is a great course for anyone wanting to expand their knowledge and creativity in photography"
"Rory finds a good balance between theory and practical application thus making the workshop a great learning experience as well as a lot of fun.”
"Rory’s training courses and workshops are a game changer. I’m no pro but I have been taking my own travel photos, and building photos for over 20 years, formerly slide film, then DSLR over the years doing the odd course and kind of understanding the principles of cameras and optics generally. He told me I would be shooting my Canon 70D on full manual by the end of his intermediate course, I never believed him – but I absolutely am and loving it. I can easily say my skill and confidence has doubled, Rory is a commensurate tutor with loads of patience and an easy style of teaching. I’ve definitely found my school of choice."
"I met Rory after my family gave me a bird photography session with My Photo Safari as a gift. We spent the morning at the SAPPI ponds, a great spot for bird photography and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Since then I have done Rory’s basic to intermediate photography course, Lightroom course and have spent a day with him at Tugela and Mtunzini shooting birds and wildlife. Rory’s knowledge and passion for photography has guided me from being a complete novice to where I really understand what I am doing with confidence as I make photography my retirement hobby."
I have been very fortunate to join Rory Baker and Alan Nixon on their Big 5 & Ultimate Hide Photo Safari. As an amateur photographer I was very nervous to be in the company of the two photographic gurus, but it turned out to be one of the best weeks in my life. Everything was so well organized; transport, luxury accommodation, game drive vehicles, work area to edit photos and so on. The well-equipped hides gave us the perfect opportunity to get close to the animals without disturbing them and to take breath-taking pictures. Game drives were so exiting, we got really close to the animals and each photographer had enough space to be able to move from one side to the other in order to take the best possible pictures. The game rangers were very professional and managed to find all the animals we wished to see, including the Big Five. By the time we returned home I had had an adventure of a lifetime, gained two very dear friends and my photography improved beyond my wildest dreams. I am saving for the next opportunity to join this expert MY PHOTO SAFARI team.
Thanks for a great experience!! I enjoyed every minute of the workshop and the revision and theoretical tuition added to the enjoyment. All said, a superbly planned three days photography workshop.
